GUAVA SAUCE
This sauce adds a uniquely flavored twist to sweet and sour style sauces and goes amazing with Tacos, and other spice heavy dishes.
Ingredients:
2/3 cup Guava Jam/Preserves1 cup white onion2 dried ancho chili pepper2 tbsp soy sauceSalt to taste1 cup water1 tsp cumin1/2 tsp oregano1/2 tsp smoked paprika2 tbsp vinegar1 tbsp olive oil1 tbsp nutritional yeast
Directions:
Dice your onion into as small of pieces as you can.Cut open your peppers and remove the seeds. Place them in a medium sized pot and add all other ingredients.Cook this in medium heat until your dried peppers have turned soft. Remove from the heat and let cool completely.Blend this mixture in a blender or food processor until perfectly smooth. Add salt to taste, and if needed add more water in tbsp amounts if too thick, until desired texture is reached.
